Greens Cafe in Oxford – don’t have the breakfast
I must be turning over a new leaf because I’m finding it harder and harder to be mean about people even if they do a lousy job. The case in point was Greens Cafe in Oxford. I popped in here on Saturday morning because I was in a rush really. And because I haven’t been [...]

Ed’s diner in Euston – not for the breakfast…
I came into Euston this morning and decided that I would have a cooked breakfast to celebrate being back in London. There isn’t a massive choice for breakfasts in Euston and so I decided to see what Ed’s diner had to offer. I’ve been in before for a burger, which I remember OK/Quite Good. The [...]

Tiffin cafe Leather Lane is very nice
Tiffin’s Cafe. 24-26, Leather Lane, London, EC1N 7SU Just popped in here this morning for a full English breakfast. They have 24 different breakfasts to choose from! And if you can’t find one that suits you from those, you can order the components seperately – Tesco style. It’s a nice cafe on the end of Leather [...]

Tatyan’s bistro in Cirencester – excellent
I found myself doing some post Christmas shopping in Cirencester today. It has some good shops and it’s not often mobbed with shoppers which makes it a pleasant ‘knock about’ shopping town. Anyway, around 11am I had a fancy for a full English and came across Tatyan’s bistro and dining room. A nice little spot [...]

3 out of 5 for breakfast in Sydney
It’s not easy to find a full English breakfast in Sydney these days. The Sydneysiders are far too healthy for this old fashioned gut buster from the days of Empire. I guess you don’t need 1200 calories first thing to keep you warm here. Everyone is drinking skinny lattes or freshly squeezed juice for silly [...]

Great breakfast at Common Room Balham Hill
I must be hitting a lucky run. That’s two great breakfasts I’ve had in a week! The latest one is at Common Room on Balham Hill. Terrible name for a nice cafe because there are hundreds of ‘Common Rooms’. Hopefully this gets the reputation it deserves for good food. So, to the breakfast. Three pieces [...]

Dockers in Leamington Spa – five stars
I was out in Leamington Spa on Saturday. Probably the best town in the Midlands. Anyway, someone recommended this place called Dockers for breakfast. So, in the quest to find the greatest English breakfast I went along and took a friend. Dockers is styled on a 1950′s American Diner and it’s part of a beautiful [...]

A visit to Brothers Cafe & Restaurant for a full English
Furthering the quest for the greatest full English breakfast, I walked around the corner to Leather Lane and into the first cafe along the street. There are 4 or 5 along here.Leather Lane is a nice, vibrant road with a street market in the day. Brothers cafe is more of a kebab shop really but [...]

No eggs = no good, for a full English breakfast
I was driving down the Fosse Way yesterday. A lovely Roman road that goes from the Cotswolds to Leicester. It used to go from Exeter to Lincoln when it was built, probably still does for all I know. Anyway, in the quest to find the best full English breakfast I stopped at a little cafe [...]

Breakfast at the Food Bazaar Gray’s Inn Road
As this is opposite our office and continuing with my quest for the best full English breakfast, I popped into the Food Bazaar yesterday. It’s actually a Moroccan restaurant but they also do wraps, sandwiches and salads and a multitude of breakfast options. I had the Full English of course. My verdict – well fairly [...]

Scoffers – very average for the full English breakfast
Well, what has happened to Scoffers? It used to be a very nice little place to go. I have been several times over the years. I went for a full English breakfast on Sunday in my quest to find the best. It hasn’t changed since the last time I went in and I’d say it’s [...]

An OKish English Breakfast in Kentish Town
There are very few places in sunny Kentish Town to get a full English, but one such place is the Village Café & Restaurant. HUGE portion for a very reasonable £4 which included toast and tea. Egg perfectly cooked, but sadly too many beans which somewhat swamped the other key players on the plate. Lovely [...]

Quest for the best Full English breakfast – The larder cafe, Bloomsbury
Popped in here this morning and had a full English breakfast. Absolutely excellent. Quality ingredients, bacon and sausage both very good. Quality condiments – HP sauce and Heinz. Egg yolk cooked well and no runny white bit. Doorstep white toast, tomatoes and black pudding. Tasted like Heinz beans too. £5.80 and a cup of tea [...]

Very good full English breakfast at Andrew’s cafe Gray’s Inn Road
I was on the Gray’s Inn Road yesterday around Bloomsbury and Farringdon. In the quest to find the perfect English breakfast I pooped into Andrew’s cafe / restaurant. £5.20 for a full English breakfast, chips, 2 rounds of toast and a coffee. The price was certainly right. The cafe itself was very quirky with [...]

The quest for the best English Breakfast
I love cooked English breakfasts. But getting a good one is a hit and miss affair. So, being the interesting individual I am, I thought I would start documenting it when I come across a good one. And this is the first. After taking a long ride to Bournemouth from Cirencester a couple of week [...]
